Every Child Deserves Access, Dignity, and Truth.
Justice for Hope is a national nonprofit for student rights.
Justice for Hope is a parent-led nonprofit working to hold schools accountable when leadership fails students and families — whether by denying accommodations, ignoring federal protections, or neglecting basic health and safety. We stand for transparency, compliance, and integrity so every child can learn in a safe, supportive environment.
Hope’s Story
Hope is a bright, neurodivergent student whose school denied her the accommodations she needed to thrive. Instead of support, her family faced exclusion and retaliation. The result was burnout and a health crisis that never should have happened.
Hope’s experience is not unique. Families, educators, and school staff across the country encounter private schools that ignore their responsibilities under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act.
Justice for Hope was created to stand with all who care about children’s rights—parents, teachers, staff, and allies. We expose discrimination, connect communities with resources, and advocate for accountability. If you want safer, more inclusive schools, you belong here.
✦ Did You Know?
Many private schools claim that federal disability laws don’t apply to them. But in reality, thousands of private schools accept federal funds every year — through grants, tuition subsidies, or military-related scholarships.
When a school accepts federal money, it triggers obligations under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, requiring them to provide equal access for students with disabilities.
Common federal funding streams include:
Child Care Aware of America (CCAoA) – child care subsidies, often used by military families.
Military tuition assistance & DoD school choice programs – direct tuition benefits.
Title IIA & Title IV grants – federal education funds that flow to “participating private schools” through local school districts.
National School Lunch Program (NSLP) – many private schools take part, even when claiming “no federal funding.”
📌 In the Colorado case we are documenting, the school accepted CCAoA-linked funds and other public subsidies, while still denying a disabled student the accommodations she needed.
What We Do - Our Mission
Protect Students
We expose discrimination and unsafe practices — from denying accommodations to exposing children to dangerous conditions — so every child can learn in a safe, supportive environment.Empower Parents
We provide toolkits, complaint guides, and peer support so parents and staff know their rights and how to act..Hold Schools Accountable
We press for transparency, outside oversight, and consequences when schools break the law.
Why It Matters:
If it happened to Hope, it could happen to any child.
When schools discriminate and create unsafe environments, they don’t just break the law—they harm children, families, and communities. Students are pushed out of learning environments, parents are left isolated, and trust in education erodes.
We believe in a simple truth: every child has the right to learn with dignity and safety.
